Senior Transportation Consultant

EDR Group has an opening for a full-time, senior transportation consultant to join our leadership team.

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to be part of our global transportation consulting practice's leadership team. Candidates applying for this position must have a record of success in multi-modal transportation (passenger and/or freight) planning, economics and policy analysis. This position involves identifying, pursuing, and winning consulting projects in the public, NGO, private, and non-profit sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing consulting projects and professional teams. This position also requires the ability to maintain and expand EDR Group’s position as a national leader in cutting-edge analysis and methods for multi-modal transportation planning by authoring professional papers, making conference and industry association presentations, and similar efforts. The position will also manage, supervise, and mentor junior staff. 

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate will provide evidence of the following:

  • Ten (10) or more years professional experience as a consultant in transportation and related fields
  • Five (5) or more years professional experience managing large multidisciplinary projects
  • Knowledge of the national consulting environment for public agencies at all levels including national transportation policy organizations
  • Demonstrated experience in management position(s) with staff and business-line responsibilities
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client management
  • Excellent English-language business communication (written and verbal) skills, including public-facing, client-facing, and internal-facing experience

Other Skills and Interests

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above, the successful candidate will possess background in one or more of the following:

  • Leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary staff teams
  • Participation in and contributions to relevant professional organizations
  • Quantitative planning and data analysis methods and tools related to multi-modal transportation policy and planning.
  • Adapting and responding quickly and effectively to dynamic business situations and needs

Our downtown Boston office is the preferred location for this position. Regular overnight travel to client sites and business activities may be required.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
