GWeisbrod

Glen Weisbrod is the CEO of EDR Group, and he also helps lead the firm’s urban development practice. He has over 38 years of experience assessing the feasibility, sustainability and wider impacts of private development and public infrastructure investments in cities. He has overseen analysis for housing, retail/commercial and mixed use development plans, as well as public investments in water/sewer, energy and transportation infrastructure. The practice also extends to metropolitan long range growth plans, and expansion of community facilities.  All of this work shares a common feature, which is the consideration of emerging and expected future changes in population and economic growth factors affecting market demand, activity patterns and wider community and economic impacts of planned and proposed large scale investments.

Mr. Weisbrod is an expert on the application of social benefit cost analysis, multi-criteria analysis and economic impact analysis as decision tools that differentially account for the strategic, long-term implications of proposed projects and plans. He has coauthored journal articles and guides on these topics, and been an invited speaker at workshops and conferences across North America as well as in Europe (Paris, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Leipzig, Bari), South America (Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo), Asia (Saigon, Osaka) and Australia (Sydney).

Among his many leadership roles, Mr Weisbrod has served as Chair of the TRB Committee on Transportation and Economic Development, and is currently a member of the TRB Land Development committee and the Transportation Economics committee. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the National Council for Urban Economic Development. Mr. Weisbrod was also formerly Sr. Vice President of Cambridge Systematics, Inc. The author of over 30 published articles, he holds a MS in Engineering and MCP in Planning from M.I.T., and BA in Economics from Brandeis University.
