Mark Sieber is a Principal at EDR Group and the Manager of Global Consulting. He was a Partner at our affiliate, EBP in Switzerland, before joining EDR Group in Boston. Mark brings over 24 years of experience in the fields of urban development, regional planning and multimodal transportation planning. He is now working to bring Swiss and broader European expertise in urban transportation to the US, and extend EDR Group’s economic expertise to EBP’s European clients.
Mark is an experienced project manager, with extensive experience managing transportation planning projects at local, regional, state and national levels. A particular focus of his work has been the coordination of long range transportation investment plans and regional land development plans. For instance, he led the expert group that evaluated all 41 urban development "agglomeration" plans on behalf of the Swiss Federal Office for Spatial Development. He also brings strong experience with highway and transit projects, prioritization, selection processes and feasibility studies. This work extends from state and national prioritization schemes to the development of rating systems for major urban travel corridors, small town bypass routes and rural access roads. It includes evaluation of urban traffic bottlenecks, rural connectivity and other access issues.
Mark also brings a strong knowledge of European approaches to problem assessment and planning solutions to address traffic flow, parking, goods movement, airport access and environmental impact requirements. He will be involved in a range of US planning studies where he can bring the international perspective to improve evaluation and planning practices.
