Ira Hirschman Joins EDR Group as Senior Economist

EDR Group, an EBP Company, is proud to announce the hiring of Ira Hirschman as a Senior Economist, based in New York. Dr. Hirschman has 35 years of experience as a transportation and urban economist, with a practice that has spanned virtually all areas of transportation and infrastructure development and public policy.

He has worked throughout the US and internationally, including cross border transportation studies between the US and Mexico and Canada, highway and transit developments in Jordan, Thailand, and Turkey, and port development projects in China, Bosnia, and Colombia. Ira has worked in many regions of the world, including Turkey and the Middle East, the Republic of Georgia, Armenia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

EDR Group will be able to not only draw on Dr. Hirschman's long domestic and international experience and expertise to provide industry tested approaches to economic evaluation, but will also greatly benefit from his extensive economic modeling experience to find the right analysis tool for the right situation. Prior to joining EDR Group, he served for many years as the head of WSP's economics consulting practice. In that capacity, he was the firm's senior practitioner in the field of economic impact analysis, freight and intermodal economic analysis, highway and transportation corridor project evaluation, benefit-cost analysis (BCA), transportation pricing, environmental economics, and related areas. Dr. Hirschman was co-creator of the PRISM model with his former firm, and has long experience utilizing the entire suite of economic modeling tools for the analysis of cities, regions, to the national level.
