BTS Federal Support for Local Decision-Making
As required by Section 25003 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, EBP supported the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) in development of a work plan: the execution of which would significantly increase the level of support that BTS offers non-Federal decision makers.
EBP supported three technical exercises with BTS and USDOT stakeholders that built from the external engagement with key organizations and the public. These exercises provided the content for the work plan for improving federal tools to support local transportation decision-making. BTS materials including the final Work Plan can be found here.
EBP supported BTS's engagement through listening sessions with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), National Association of Counties (NACO), National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO), American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA), National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), Transportation Research Board (TRB), National League of Cities (NLC), and American Public Transportation Association (APTA).
