Ex Post Analyses and Tools
In October 2016, a paper comparing international methods and outcomes of ex post transportation investment projects co-authored by Stephen Fitzroy of EBP (formerly EDR Group) at the 44th Annual European Transport Conference held in Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Fitzroy collaborated with David Meunier of the Laboratoire Ville Mobilité Transport (France) and Pauline Wortelboer-van Donselaar, the Netherlands Institute for Transport Policy Analysis (KiM).
The paper described how ex post analysis is being used in France, the Netherlands and the U.S. to assess project economic development performance, evaluate how projects contribute to long term sustainable economic growth, and provide information that can be used in developing a new generation of ex ante modeling and evaluation. The paper was presented as one of three sessions at the ETC conference focused on ways that transportation investments can support sustainable economies.
