EDR Group, under subcontract to the URS/MRC/TSH joint venture for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, 2010

For the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, under subcontract to the URS/MRC/TSH joint venture, EDR Group is evaluating how western freight flows and freight transportation facilities in the Greater Toronto region (GTA) and western transportation corridors that connect the GTA to the midwestern and western United States and western Canada support the regional economy. This analysis includes identification of major sectors of the regional economy, and an assessment of the reliance of these sectors on various mode of transportation. With respect to freight, EDR Group will estimate economic benefits of major transportation improvements by mode, corridor and industry. Alternative investments in freight transport infrastructure will be evaluated and compared to determine which improvement or sets of improvements will most benefit southern Ontario.
