For Greater Toronto Transportation Authority, under subcontract to Steer Davies Gleave (SDG), EDR Group measured the economic impacts of public transportation improvements for Metrolinx in metro-Toronto. EDR Group was part of a team assessing the benefits cases of proposed alternatives using a Multiple Account Evaluation (MAE) framework that provides a systematic identification and analysis of broader implications and criteria of a project by combining transportation changes, economic impact, benefit-cost and other financial analysis, environmental benefits and land use and social impacts. EDR Group and SDG completed five sets of project alternatives. The purpose of the Benefits Case was to undertake a comparative analysis of feasible options for a specific rapid transit project and present the results in such a way that it will assist decision makers to select a preferred option fo implementation.
