EDR Group Helps Applicant Win Largest, Rural TIGER Grant

EDR Group assisted with the economic analysis for a grant application for the 2014 US Dept. of Transportation's TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery Grant) program. The application resulted in a $24 million grant. The project is for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to widen 2.4 miles of the Mountain Parkway from two to four lanes in remote Eastern Kentucky thrugh the City of Salyersville's commercial district. THis will enhance safety, reduce travel time, ease access to public servies and provide transportation choices.

The grant awarded for the  Mountain Park Extension project is largest for a rural project in the 2014 cycle.  The key to the winning application was EDR Group's treatment of livability benefits, including access to recreational activities, cultural amenities and health related services for residents of Eastern Kentucky.
