Future Mobility Research

EDR Group is partnering with WSP and the State Smart Transportation Initiative (SSTI) to develop a comprehensive plan and proposed research agenda for a Strategic Mobility Research Program (SMRP) under the Transportation Research Board (TRB). The firm will lead the development of a synthesis and distillation of past mobility research and analysis from around the world to help inform the SMRP research agenda. In addition, EDR Group will provide key stakeholder outreach and help write the ultimate SMRP research agenda for submittal to TRB. A key characteristic of the SMRP will be a strategy/plan for implementing recommended research such that a comprehensive approach to strategic system planning will result. This project will therefore (1) lay out a helpful framework that goes beyond traditional “research roadmaps” and (b) implement a stakeholder process for refining the program development in a way that is far different from the usual stakeholder involvement processes used for transportation projects.
