Idaho Transportation Economics Practicum

EDR Group developed a “hands on” training opportunity for Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) staff to conduct economic impact and benefit-cost analysis within the context of programmatic investment options, economic prioritization models and economic development initiatives. EDR Group staff spent two weeks on the ground with ITD staff as they worked through real-world exercises in transportation economics as they built proficiency in transportation economic methods, tools, and data sources. The practicum culminated with a test exercise in which the ITD staff analyzed several transportation policies and briefed the department's senior leadership on results. After the practicum ITD staff were able to independently perform economic analysis and integrate economics into the agency’s regular business process.
